Which of the two words in the blank do you think is more appropriate in the context?
And tell me the difference in brief, will you?

ex) I often go to the Japanese restaurant with my boyfriend because it has such a pleasant atmosphere and its employees are also very (kind / friendly) and polite.

KIND is more likely to be about attitude as an employee. When he formally serves well to you, you can say he is kind.
FRIENDLY is an affectionate word about feelings. He gives you more of intimacy than a normal employee.
